Hey guys! I hope you’re all doing well!
Because many of us are washing our hands like crazy (*raises hands*), soap has been hard to come by, so I thought I would show you my 3 favorite ways to DIY some soap!
#1 – Produce wash: This was the very first non toxic DIY that I ever made. It stemmed from my need to wash my pears in a non toxic way before I ate them because before this, I was using regular hand soap- I don’t want to think about that tho…
#2 – Thieves Hand Soap: I’ve been using this stuff for going on 2 years and it has yet to disappoint! It smells like fall and I know I’m boosting my wellness by using it.
RECIPE: I just reuse the 8oz bottle my thieves hand soap originally came in (I also have and love these very similar bottles). I use ~3-4oz of thieves soap, a squirt or 2 of Dr. Bronners Unscented Castile Soap and fill the rest with water. If you want to, you could also add more essential oils to this, but I usually do not.
The thieves hand soap refills have been going in and out of stock lately, so filling the bottle half way makes it stretch further without compromising the effectiveness!
#3 – DIY Gel Soap: I you cant get your hands on or don’t like the consistency of a foaming soap base, I highly recommend this DIY. It is the most similar to conventional gel soap without the harsh chemicals, it’s completely non toxic, and boosts our wellness because of the addition of thieves!
RECIPE: In an 8oz glass soap dispenser add 6-8oz of Bath and Shower Gel Base. Add 15-20 drops of essential oils of choice, I am using thieves, but you use any combo you like (I have done lavender and peace and calming, orange and northern lights black spruce, orange and cinnamon, thieves and stress away). If you added 6oz of the base, just fill the rest of the way with tap water.
