Dressing Room Diaries: JC Penney

As requested, JCPenney try on!!

When I went to the store, they hardly had anything in my size, literally only sizes large and up, and the occasional medium were left so I grabbed what I could. Some of the stuff was REALLY cute!!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Round Neck Short Sleeve Ponte Blouse – This cute little peplum is perfect for the office or a night out. It is a ponte knit, so it’s thicker and not see thru at all. I would pair this with a chunky statement necklace to make the other wise plain front stand out! You could also throw a skinny belt around the middle to make the peplum stand out!

Wearing: XS

Fit: Runs big, size down, unless you are bustier then stick with your normal size.

Split Crew Neck 3/4 Sleeve Blouse – I loveeeeee the pattern on this top! It is very flattering! BUT I hate the sleeves! I think they are too baggy and they don’t go with the flow of the top. Since the sleeves are cinched at the cuff, I pulled them up to go above my elbow and that did make it look a little better. If you can, I would pair this with something that covers the sleeves like a jacket or cardigan or something. It does have functional buttons and a drawstring at the bottom. It’s a soft fabric, and I love the way it hangs!

Fit: TTS

V Neck Short Sleeve T Shirt – I liked this top better on the hanger than I did on me. I feel like this would be an amazing top to accommodate a baby bump because it comes down and is wider at the bottom. It has the 2 front seems that triangulate out which is what drew me to the top in the first place. It’s coming across way lighter in this photo than it is in person (it’s a true robins egg blue). The fabric is very soft and it is slightly see thru, so, as usual, I suggest nude undergarments, or a cami.

Wearing: Small

Fit: TTS, if between sizes go down

Round Neck 3/4 Sleeve T Shirt – THIS! This was one of my favorite things from the try on! I absolutely love the fit of this basic tee! The fabric is very soft and it wasnt see thru! On this exact top, the stripes are navy, cornflower blue, hot pink, orange, and yellow. It just fits amazingly well, is long enough for leggings, but would still look cute front tucked or tied with jeans. Comes in multiple solids as well.

Wearing: XS

Fit: TTS

Henley Sherpa – not online yet! I loved the fit of this cozy henley! It’s SO soft on the outside and made of that (what I like to call) bathmat material on the inside, which is still super soft! I love that it’s a henley and I love that the snaps are rose gold. It has a banded bottom hem and at the end of the sleeves. It’s lightweight but still super cozy. I’m wearing a medium cause thats the smallest size they had, but I actually really love the fit of it!

Wearing: Medium

Fit: Runs small, size up 1

Crew Neck Long Sleeve Sweatshirt – I don’t know why they’re calling this a sweatshirt, it’s definitely NOT a sweatshirt! But it is the cutest sweater around! It’s super lightweight and hangs SO well. It is definitely a cropped fit, when I raise my arms you can see my belly button, so I would just wear a black tank underweight if that bothers you. Because this is a large, it hangs off my shoulder, but it looks super cute on both shoulders.

Wearing: Large

Fit: Runs small, size up at least 2 sizes

Star Sweater – Not online yet! This super lightweight sweater is too cute! The stars are a super soft fuzzy material and the sweater itself is super soft! I am wearing a large, so I’m not sure if my tree size would fit tunic length, but if you want to wear this with leggings I suggest sizing up at least 2 sizes. This is a very comfortable sweater, and I highly recommend!

Wearing: Large

Fit: TTS, size up 1-2 sizes if you want to wear with leggings

Cowl Bell Sleeve Pullover – Ah, this sweater… When I saw it on the hanger I grabbed immediately, especially after feeling how soft it is, but I HATE the sleeves! I never understood the point of bell sleeves, unless they’re 3/4 length because they just get in the way of everything and you can’t roll them up- that just me tho ;). This is one of the softest things i’ve ever felt tho! It has super soft plush material on the inside- including the cowl neck itself- if you lift up the cowl neck, the underpart of it is plush- SO NICE! It outside isn’t plush, but it’s a very soft knit. The sweater itself is pretty lightweight.

Wearing: Small

Fit: TTS, if between sizes go down

Mock Neck Long Sleeve Tunic Top – This sweater is not as soft, but has good structure. It feels more like a towel. Apparently I have a thing for cowl necks cause I gravitated towards them this whole trip! I like the pattern on this top too. I tried on the small cause thats the smallest size they had, but the drop shoulder hem on the sleeves hits me at a weird spot and makes my shoulders look wider than they are- so I would go with your true size in this. It is a great tunic tho, you can wear it with leggings and dress it up or down!

Wearing: Small

Fit: TTS

Cozy Cowl Neck Pullover – THIS IS MY FAVORITE PULLOVER EVER!!! GUYS! You have got to feel this one! It super soft knit on the outside and the softest brushed, dare-I-say-fur, on the inside. OMG it’s SO good!!! It reminds me a lot of the aerie turtleneck sweatshirt, but 100,000,000x better! It has a tulip hem that comes up, so I’m assuming it would be good for nursing mamas, but I just think it’s the cutest detail ever! It’s literally a sweatshirt, but you can dress this up because of the small details it has. GUYS, it even has POCKETS! Sign me up!!!

Wearing: Small

Fit: Size up 1

Scoop Neck Long Sleeve Knit Blouse – This plushy striped top is super cute. It’s soft and lightweight. I’m not sure if mine was just tied too tight, but the bottom hem did not have all that much stretch to it, which is why I recommend sizing up 1-2 sizes in this. It’s from the juniors section, so maybe that’s why.

Fit: Runs small , size up 1-2 sizes

V Neck Sleeveless Tank Top – Say hello to your new favorite v-neck layering tank! The fit on this one is very comparable to the old navy one that I have. It’s perfect for layering over longer tops or you can wear it on it’s own or under a cardigan or blazer. Highly recommend this one!

I hope you guys enjoyed this try on! It was fun going to a place I don’t normally try on at! Happy shopping!
