Dressing Room Diaries: Old Navy

I went to Old Navy this past weekend and I found so much good stuff!

I usually hate shopping in between seasons like this cause it’s still freezing here and they bringing out shorts and sandals and I’m just like… NO.

BUT I am showing you a couple ways to wear springier pieces for the current weather ‘sitch ;P

Classic Button Front Shirt – How freaking adorable is this top!? It has succulents all over it! I saw this and immediately grabbed it! I can’t wait to wear this when the weather warms up with destroyed denim, and in the summer with cut offs and sandals! The material seems soft and it’s super lightweight- perfect for layering.

Button Fly Rockstar Raw Edge Skinny Jeans – I was so excited to try these on in store, but was kind of disappointed when I slipped them on… Although they are thicker material, and the quality seems pretty good, the fit is just off- on me at least. There isn’t too much stretch to them, and the waist on me was too big for the leg size if that makes sense. I do like the button fly and the slip hem at the bottom. But overall these were a definite pass for me!

Fit: TTS (I’m normally a 00 in other brands and these fit similarly to a 0 in other brands)

Faux Suede Sneaker – These were pretty comfy. I tried on the 8 since they don’t have half sizes in store and these felt a little big, so I would go down if you’re in between sizes. These are a great option to my cognac target sneakers from last year!

Fit: TTS, if between sizes, go down.

Rib Knit Sweater – This sweater is so cool! I love the mixed knit pattern on it (It doesn’t come across well in the photo). It’s really soft, but I feel it will shrink in the wash if it’s washed too much. However, the sleeves are actually long enough, which is a big deal at Old Navy! It seems to be a lightweight sweater, but perfect for layering.

Relaxed Soft Brushed Twill Shirt – I love this shirt!! It SO soft and perfect to pair with leggings or layer under sweaters! Highly recommend this one!

Faux Suede Mule Bootie – These are a cute pair of mules. They have  a semi rounded pointy toe. With about a 2-2.5″ heal. Obviously I have walked around in them hardly at all, they didn’t seem to rub when I was just wearing them to try on!

Soft Brushed Button Front Coat – I LOVE THIS COAT! As you saw on instagram, this one came home with me! It fit similarly to the coatigan that was oh so popular in the fall! It’s SO soft and I love the cocoon fit. It is actually a sweater, the inside is knit and it’s machine washable! In these photos it’s coming across as more orange, but it’s definitely a true bright coral. It does come in other colors if bright isn’t your thing 😉 I highly recommend this one!

Relaxed Tencel Shirt -The color of this top is what drew me in! I seem to be drawn to this mustard color even for spring! The fabric is soft and pretty sturdy- it reminds me of the american eagle chambrays, if you’re familiar with those. The fit is a little tight in the shoulders so if you’re between sizes, just size up 1. Unrolled, the sleeves are a tiny bit short for my liking, but I rarely wear them unrolled anyway. But it is long enough if you wanted to tie it in the front.

Fit: TTS- if between sizes go up!

Crew Neck Sweater – The color of this sweater is SO GOOD! It’s a beautiful bright cornflower or periwinkle blue, so pretty! This sweater is by no means soft tho! It’s not itchy, it’s just a more sturdy knit. I sized up to a small in this one and it’s still a little short to wear with leggings. Although the knit is a heavier knit, it’s loose, so it can be perfect for transition weather. And I love that the arms, neck, and bottom hem all have a different pattern than the body of the sweater!

Quilted Sherpa lined Hooded Jacket – This is another item that I was SO excited to try on in store! I saw a girl on the train wearing this last week and it looked so cute on her! This is similarly lined to my Levi’s Sherpa denim jacket- in that the body is completely lined in sherpa but the arms are still insulated. This jacket does seem pretty warm, would probably be perfect for ~50degree days. It’s got a zipper closure and a fully lined hood with one pockets- there is no zip or snap closure on them. I’m not sure if the pockets are lined with a layer of warm, but my hands were nice and toasty when I put them in the pockets. The hood is just alright. Because it’s lined w sherpa it’s not all that deep, even with my hair down, so don’t expect too much coverage on this one. The arms, of course, are slightly too short for my liking, but I am also wearing this with a tank top, so if I tried it on with long sleeves I might not have noticed the sleeve length as much.

Cozy V Neck Sweater – I was drawn immediately to this sweater! The color is a beautiful fuchsia in person and it’s SO SOFT! It is the type of sweater that may shrink up in the wash after a few washed tho, so keep that in mind and wash on cold and air dry! I love the V neck and that it can definitely be worn off the shoulder if you wanted. The knit pattern on the lower half of the sweater points in (if that even makes sense) so it gives a flattering shape (you can see that better on stories).

Fit: Runs a little small, size up 1

MidRise Distressed Super Skinny Jeans – OH MAN! I was so excited to try these pants on! They had amazing reviews online and they looked perfect on the model! Can I tell you, they were everything!!!!! SO comfortable, and soft and stretchy and SO GOOD!!! They actually fit me, which is always exciting in old navy jeans! The only issues I have with them is that the rips are slightly higher than they should be and that bothers the crap out of me haha. If the rips were in the right spot I would’ve bought these SO fast, they’re that good! For reference, I’m 5’3″ and have a long body and short legs. They are coming across grey in this photo, but they are a true light wash blue jean. They are very lightweight, so you definitely can’t wear them now, but they would be perfect for the spring and summer.

Wearing: 0 regular

Fit: True to Old Navy sizing. 0 is usually the smallest size they have and it’s usually hit or miss weather or not they’ll be too big, too small, or fit lol, so take that info with a grain of salt! They are super stretchy tho!

Thanks so much for reading!

Happy shopping!
