6 ways to wear Over the Knee Boots

OTK boots are such a trend this year and it’s one trend that I’m actually super excited about!

I bought these boots last year and they served me well, I wore them every chance I got. They’re by the brand Unisa over at DSW, and although they don’t have them this year (THESE are the most similar), they have cute flat options (I actually have these and I LOVE them! & how cute are THESE?!?)

See more of my favorite OTK styles at the end of this post!

1. WITH A MIDI SKIRT ||

Being that I’m on the petite side (I’m 5’3′) I didn’t think I’d be able to pull off a midi skirt, let alone a midi skirt with OTK boots, but it actually works!

Pairing OTK boots with a skirt that just reaches the top of the boot is a perfect way to transition your summer skirts into cooler weather, especially if you don’t want to break out the tights or leggings yet…

Style Tip: Chose a Fall appropriate color and you’ll look chic and ready for the season!

2. WITH CORDUROYS ||

Cords are so fun to wear in the cooler months, plus they come in tons and tons of colors. I like the texture that cords add to an outfit, instead of the flatness or jeans or jeggings.

Style Tip: Choose a bright color to really make your cords pop against the OTK boots!

3. WITH WHITE PANTS ||

Wearing white in the Fall & Winter is my favorite look, to me it just looks so cozy, especially paired with a chunky knit sweater or flannel! OTK boots with white pants makes the white more appropriate for the changing seasons!

Style Tip: Go for a monochrome look by wearing all white with your OTK boots to make then stand out!

4. WITH DENIM ||

My favorite way to dress up denim is to add wedge or heeled boots, especially OTK boots. You’re outfit immediately goes from drab to fab! (Yea, I know I sound like an infomercial!)

Style Tip: Add a Fall lip color and you’re ready to head out the door!

5. WITH A SHORT DRESS ||

This is probably my favorite OTK outfit! Adding OTK boots to a short dress makes it seem a little more appropriate, especially if you’re not comfortable wearing short dresses. I love shapeless dresses that you can style based on how you’re feeling that day.. A little bloated? Leave it shapeless, and add a cute vest! Feeling sassy? Belt it to show off your figure! Anything goes!

Style Tip: Opt for a dress that is longer in the back, so you don’t flash everyone every time you bend over.

6. WITH LEGGINGS ||

Fleece lined leggings, that is! It’s a great way to stay comfy, yet stylish at the same time. Like I said before, throwing on OTK boots with an otherwise casual outfit really glams it up!

Style Tip: I’m sure you’ve heard this one before but.. make sure your top covers your butt!

Here are a few fabulous pairs of OTK boots! How awesome are these, and the color is to die for!!! AND They’re from TARGET!!

I may or may not have these and these (which are under $45!) in the mail on their way to me… Reviews coming soon!!
